Description

This is not a grammar nazi training camp. This will help you understand and describe language around you with a particular focus on English. You'll learn the function of the parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and more). By understanding the functions, you'll be able to understand what your read and hear even better than before--even old texts like Shakespeare. But you'll also become a stronger, more effective communicator.
Forget those high school English rules that have more exceptions than instances. Come here to find out how English actually works. English rules are simple once you understand the functions of the parts of speech. Then you can use that understanding to manipulate your sentences into something powerful.
Did you leave your English class with high marks but no understanding of subject, indirect object, direct object, passive voice, or active voice? These are just a few of the concepts you’ll learn in this course.
Are you wondering what linguistics is all about? Want to get your feet wet in the kind of questions a linguist asks and topics a linguist studies? This course will do just that for you.
After each video there’s a short quiz to make sure you’ve understood the material. That way you can move on to the next lecture with confidence.
Enjoy and learn lots!
